Welcome to the Region 18 Association of Information Technology Professionals website. Region 18, known as the “Leadership Region” includes Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. We are part of a National Association over 7000 members strong, and have professional and student chapters across the Continental United States and Hawaii.
We invite you to participate in our activities by attending a Chapter or Region event; Please see the list of Chapters under the ‘About’ tab to locate one near you. You can also join the Region as an independent member if there is not a Chapter in your locale.
Region 18 hosts two events annually – a Spring Conference and a Leadership retreat in the fall. These events consist of a combination of technical, management and leadership education - skills necessary to function well in today’s business environment. In addition, local Chapters have regular meetings and activities that also promote technology education and encourage networking. If you are not already a member, why not consider joining the association of choice for IT professionals. If you are a member, thanks for your continued support of Region 18 and also your local Chapter of AITP.
Greater Wheeling Chapter Hosts SQL Saturday EventRegion 18 is fairly large (geographically) spanning from Ohio to North Carolina. Because of this it is sometimes for difficult for members to attend events on the opposite side of the Region. To help address this issue, your Region leaders are encouraging chapters to sponsor what we are calling "clustered" events. These are events that may be attractive for members of nearby chapters (an hour or two away), although are open to members throughout the region.
The Greater Wheeling Chapter has stepped up to host the first such event - SQL Saturday. This event will be held on May 1, 2010, and is open to all AITP members at NO COST! We are hoping to see Region 18
well represented at this meeting - especially from nearby chapters like Kanawah Valley, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Akron, and Northeast Ohio. Use this link to see the event flyer which contains a registration link.
